I had a weird feeling when I first walked in…it sorta felt like I was transported back to Papa Murphy’s with the ingredient bar in full view, young people feverishly making up pizzas, ingredients flying around but I quickly settled down when I saw the big oven in the back and a young man sliding pie after pie in and out. Whew…it wasn’t the big take-and-bake chain…
MOD (Made on Demand for those playing at home) pizza is a thin-crusted, wood fire oven pizza joint with several Seattle locations, one in Lynnwood and one on the Eastside (Bellevue). Not authentically Neapolitan, nor is it the now-trendy wild ingredient thin-crust pizzas (think clam and potato), but it is thin, it is fresh, it is delicious, and you know what? It’s CHEAP! Less than 7 bucks will get you any of their signature or build-your-own pizzas. They sell $1 PBRs and Hostess Ding Dongs too!
If you want good, high quality, inexpensive, local pizza, then you should feel great about going to MOD.
How to get there: MOD Pizza, Locations in Seattle: Capitol Hill, U-District, Downtown; Lynnwood at Alderwood Mall; Bellevue on Bellevue Way near Bellevue Square
