Happy Hour – Woo Woo

Happy Hour – Woo Woo

Ridiculous name…I know. Don’t get me started. When I was the 30-something, over-weight server and rookie bartender at O’Doherty’s several years ago, when it came to alcohol, we were known primarily for our good selection of traditional Irish and Pacific NW micro brew.  But occasionally we had some folks that liked drinking the hard stuff. The Air Force guys wanted to do shots, especially with the ladies, and I learned what Duck Farts, Dublin/Washington/Fire Apples were. I even learned how to make shots that tasted like pineapple upsidedown cake and German chocolate cake! It was fun.

One such foofoo drink was called the “Woo Woo.” I honestly don’t know how or where the name came from, but I have to tell you, even as a male, this is a pretty tasty and simple to make at home cocktail. Tastes especially good in the sunshine.

Woo Woo

Take your pint glass and fill 3/4 full with ice.  Add 3 ounces Vodka, 1 ounce Peach Schnapps, and 1/2 ounce of cranberry juice to your cocktail shaker and then add ice. Shake it like a polaroid picture and pour over ice. Garnish with lime wheel.
